EU braced for pandemonium as Sweden tipped to leave bloc after 'successful' Brexit deal
THE EU could soon lose another member as Sweden is likely to leave the bloc in a few years,
especially if Brexit Britain proves successful, a Swedish MEP has told Express.co.uk.
Stefan Löfven, who was last week forced to resign as Prime Minister after clashing with allies over
housing policy, has narrowly won a vote in Parliament to secure himself a swift return as Sweden’s leader.
The Wednesday vote did not go smoothly, though. It was clear beforehand that a single lawmaker, either
by mistake or deliberate rebellion, had the power to scupper Mr Löfven’s comeback, but in the end, he
prevailed by 176 votes to 173. Sweden’s Parliament has 349 seats.
