Tinside Lido with heated water, music and outdoor dining

Tinside Lido is a jewel in Plymouth's crown, drawing in visitors from across the country with its unique
aesthetic during the balmy summer months.

However, it could be better utilised, says Nick Kelly, the man now at the helm of Plymouth City Council.

llr Kelly spoke to us about his hopes for the waterfront gem, amongst other things as he maps out the
beginnings of his administration's 100 day plan to improve Plymouth.

The Lido was dubbed the UK's 'most Instagrammable' pool earlier this year, and when the sun is shining
- it really is quite something.

Cllr Kelly spoke about growing up here in Plymouth, and his strong sense of pride in the city he calls home,
but he also pointed out that if we are to truly 'unlock the potential' of the city, we should be thinking about
investing more into what makes Plymouth so special.

The leader of the council hopes that during his time at the helm, his team will be able to upgrade Tinside
Lido, with hopes to heat the water to make it more appealing to people, as well as plans to diversify what
Tinside Lido is used for, so that it can be open more throughout the year. Although he admits Plymouth
does not have the climate to keep the pool open 365 days a year.

Now this sounds like a dream come true.
Can't wait, lets hope they can do it, what a lovely day out that would be.

I so hope this comes to fruition, what a wonderful attraction that will make.
The pool will be able to be used on more days when it is heated.

I love the Hoe, sitting on the grass or in one of the shelters so this sounds like it will be a real
delight and attract visitors, if there is any more room for them that is.
